Maui, the valley island is more than just a play ground for the rich
and famous. It's an island with many luxurious resorts and some of the
most spectacular scenery in the world. A must do activity is a drive
to Hana, 52 miles of hairpin curves through coastal jungles ( avg. Geritol
speed of 15 mph) This leisurely drive prepares you for Hana's little
sleepy town atmosphere and the unparralleled beauty of The Seven Sacred
Pools.

Lunar Maui
Devote another part of a day to driving to the top of the 10,023 foot
Mt Haleakala.Sunrises are spectacular from the summit (make sure to
take a jacket and binoculars.) From this vantage point you will be able
to see Maui's three sister islands, Lanai, Molokai and Kahoolawe across
the bay. The Big Islands twin peaks loom in the distance over 100 miles
away. Now look behind you for the biggest surprise of all. It's Haleakala
Crater, the worlds largest, big enough to swallow Manhattan Island.
The crater is a vast moonscape of ancient lava pools and conical vents.(Nasa
tested its "Rover" in this inhospitable terrain). You can test your
legs if you dare to venture a hike along one of the many trails.)
